The Friends of Athens-Clarke County Library and Avid Bookshop present an evening with author Cat Shook at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3.
Shook will discuss her debut novel, If We’re Being Honest, which is being published by Celadon/Macmillan this month. The book is described as “a poignant exploration of the bonds of family and all the ways love can surprise us, at any age."
If We’re Being Honest follows the Williams family the week after they bury their beloved patriarch, who has suddenly and unexpectedly died. During the funeral, a long held secret is revealed that shakes each family member and brings their own secrets to the surface.
Shook graduated from the University of Georgia in 2016 with degrees in Creative Writing and Mass Media Arts. Born and raised in Georgia, she now lives in Manhattan.
Following a conversation with the author, books will be available for purchase and signing.
