A teenage girl who went missing over the weekend from Yargo State Park in Barrow County has been found unharmed in another state.

Kaelyn Phillips, 16, was located in North Carolina, the Winder Police Department said on Wednesday, without disclosing the circumstances of her disappearance and recovery.

"Her family is en route to get her. No foul play involved in her disappearance. We are thankful she is safe and we would like to express gratitude for all of the support and help,” Winder Police Chief Jim Fullington said in a news release.

He said those assisting in the investigation were the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Department of Natural Resources and staff at Fort Yargo.

Phillips was reported missing on Monday by her father after he found she was not at their RV, in which the family had been living at the park since Jan. 22.

The girl's mother had left the country on an overseas business trip, but she flew back to Georgia on Tuesday after learning that her daughter was missing.

The search for Phillips involved friends and supporters passing out fliers and using social media.

I'm glad she was found unharmed. There's more to the story, but we don't really need to know it. I just hope she and her family heal.
