A 47-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Monday night in the Airport Mini Mart convenience store on Winterville Road.
The robbery that occurred at about 11:30 p.m. was witnessed by several other people who were in the store at the time, according to police.
The victim and witnesses told police that a black male wearing a camouflage face mask entered the store with a silver handgun already drawn and pointed it at the victim until he surrendered all of his money.
The victim said he gave the gunman $1,000 that was in his pocket, at which time the suspect ran from the store toward the nearby Glenn Park Community trailer park, according to police.
Officers responded with a K-9 unit but were unable to locate the gunman.
The victim thought that the suspect somehow knew he was carrying a lot of cash because he didn’t try to take money from the store’s cash register, police said.
Seems targeted to me
Of course he knew. Which buddy of his told the robber is the question?
