Local business donates rugs and school supplies to more than 200 Athens area teachers

Dalton Carpet One Floor & Home recently thanked 200 teachers from across Athens and surrounding areas for the important role they play in educating the minds of tomorrow by providing them with vital school supplies, area rugs, and coupons from local businesses. In partnership with Certified Clean Care and Newk’s Eatery on Epps Bridge, 200 Teacher Bags were donated.

“Dalton Carpet One is committed to improving customers’ lives in the communities we serve,” said Dalton Carpet One President J.R. Allred. "Our employees are passionate about providing teachers in our communities access to the tools they need to invest in our youth. Our donation to teachers, in partnership with other local businesses, is another example of how Dalton Carpet One is helping teachers achieve more inside and outside of the classroom."

“Each year, an increasing number of teachers are forced to use their own paycheck to purchase classroom supplies,” said Adrienne Dean, public relations manager for Dalton Carpet One. “Our teacher supply and rug giveaway helps to alleviate this pressure on teachers, by providing the tools they need to successfully educate our children.”

The giveaway took place July 23 - 24 from 1 - 3 pm at Dalton Carpet One's Atlanta Highway location. Educators with valid Georgia teacher IDs received area rugs and bags of free supplies on a first-come, first-serve basis to start off the school year.

Dalton Carpet One Floor & Home is a locally-owned flooring and home retailer and interior design studio serving the north Georgia area. They are part of North America’s leading floor covering co-op, Carpet One.
