A University of Georgia student reported Tuesday that she was raped at the Stadium Village student condo complex, according to Athens-Clarke County police.
The 18-year-old victim said the assault happened Jan. 18 at the complex that is located on Little Street, in walking distance of UGA’s North Campus, according to a police incident report.
The alleged assault was being investigated by ACCPD’s Special Victims Unit, the report noted.
“This is a very fresh case and detectives are actively working it right now so they were unable to give me much detail,” said Lt. Shaun Barnett, the police department’s public information officer.
“I'm told that the victim is a UGA student and the identity of the suspect has not been confirmed,” he said.
