Two more people were shot at Hallmark Estates on Wednesday, five days after a man was shot at the same trailer park off Spring Valley Road, according to an Athens-Clarke County police incident report.
The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m., after a 32-year-old man and his 33-year-old girlfriend took trash from their home to a dumpster at the front of the trailer park, and were walking back home when the man saw a black Toyota or Nissan four-door sedan drive by and after hearing gunshots saw his girlfriend fall to the ground, according to the report.
The man realized that both he and his girlfriend had been shot, he by a bullet that grazed his foot and she by a bullet in the center of the top of her foot, the report noted.
Neither injury was life-threatening.
The man reportedly told police he did not recognize the car from which the gunshots were fired, nor did he know of any reason someone would want to shoot him.
The incident occurred after 36-year-old Henry Greg Thomas Jr. last Friday night allegedly shot another man in the leg at Hallmark Estates during a dispute over a female.
Thomas was arrested a few days later for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Capt. Christopher Nichols, commanding officer of the Criminal Investigations Division, said detectives had nothing "at the moment" to indicate the shooting incidents might be related.
