A Jackson County woman reportedly was arrested early Saturday morning after she fired a gun during a domestic dispute outside of a bar in downtown Athens.
According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, the incident happened at 254 W. Clayton St., which is the address for Sister Louisa’s Church.
“A female pointed a firearm at a male subject, said Lt. Jody Thompson, who is ACCPD0’s public information officer. “They struggled over the firearm, and it went off, not hitting anyone.”
The female, identified on the Clarke County Jail’s website as 25-year-old Ashley Sosa Ledesma of Commerce, was charged with family violence aggravated assault and misdemeanor obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
Thompson said he was unable to provide details because a report about the incident aas not immediately availkable.
However, another police officer said that Ledesma was “very uncooperative” during the initial stage of the investigation “and someone was tased.”
As of 11 a.m. Saturday, Ledesma remained in custody at the county jail without a bail amount set for her release.

I consider myself a moderate conservative. But if people think it's a good idea to be walking the streets of Athens and going into bars carrying a handgun then you are wrong. I believe in home defense and am armed at home. Why the hell would I want to go where people are drinking and carrying? Please debate me on this. I need a laugh.
