A Barrow County man was recently arrested for reportedly assaulting an employee of an Athens Strip Club.

According to an Athens-Clarke County police report, 34-year-old Justley Brandon Harston of Winder was with two friends in Toppers International Showbar on North Jackson Street about 12:30 a.m. Saturday when employees told them to leave for not following establishment rules.

As the disorderly customers were being escorted toward the door, they began to fight with employees, and once outside, Harston kicked the door, then opened it and threw a beer bottle at an employee, hitting him in the face, according to the police report.

When officers arrived, they saw that the employee had a laceration over his right eyebrow and was unable to speak with the officers because he was going in and out of consciousness, according to the report, which added that EMS treated the employee at the scene before transporting him to the hospital.

One of Harston’s friends was also injured when he went at an employee who was holding Harston for police and the employee struck the friend in the head with a flashlight, according to the report.

The friend had a laceration on the top of his head and a large amount of blood on his shirt, but he refused treatment, indicating that his other friend would drive him to the hospital, the police report noted.

Harston was taken to the county jail, where he was booked in on a charge of aggravated assault.

He was released Saturday afternoon upon posting a $2,500 bond.
