A house and vehicle in east Athens reportedly were damaged by gunfire during an apparent shootout over the weekend.
According to an Athens-Clarke County police report, officers responded at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a group of males shooting at a house in the area of Cook Drive and Cook Circle, in a neighborhood off of Nellie B. Avenue, with someone at the scene possibly having been shot.
The officers could not locate any victims, but they did find that a house on Cook Drive had been struck by a bullet that entered the residence, according to the report.
Further down on Cook Drive, officers found a mixture of spent 9mm and .45-caliber cartridge cases, and a gray Honda Accord that had been reported stolen in Washington with bullet holes to the windshield and hood, according to the police report.
“No suspects or victims have been identified in this incident,” said Lt. Shaun Barnett, ACCPD’s public information officer.
“A motive is not known at this time,” he said, adding that “it has not been ruled out that there could be more than one person shooting but the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.”
Do you ever wonder why the George Soros-funded yahoos that march in front of Alps Road school every Monday don't march thru these neighborhoods? Just seems like they're missing their target audience. Just a thought.
