A person was shot to death in the westside Athens Stonehenge neighborhood.
Athens-Clarke County police public information officer Lt. Shaun Barnett said the information he had was limited because an investigation of the incident was in its very early stages.
He did say that police responded to a reported shooting at about 5:25 p.m. and located a victim outside in the 300 block of Marlborough Downs Road.
The victim was transported to the hospital and declared deceased.
