Police investigating shooting on UGA campus

A person was shot early Saturday morning on the University of Georgia campus.
According to UGA police, at about 2:17 a.m. officers heard what they believed to be gunshots in the area of Jackson and Fulton streets, where they found a male who had gunshot wounds to his leg. The victim’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
The victim was not a student, and UGA police said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Soon after, Athens-Clarke County police officers reportedly conducted a traffic stop of a potentially involved vehicle, and suspects were detained.
ACCPD Public Information Officer Lt. Jody Thompson had no additional information to offer, saying it's a UGA police cast.
Information from county police was not immediately available.
