Science fact of the day: Axolotls Are Lentic

Axolotls are lentic, meaning that they only inhabit still-water lakes.

In fact, axolotls are only found in two places on Earth: Mexico’s Lake Xochimilco and Lake Chalco.

They are classified as Critically Endangered.
