Sheriff’s Office to provide free child car safety seat checks in Athens

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, three out of four child car seats are not properly installed.

To address this, the Clarke County Sheriff's Office will be having a Child Car Seat Checks initiative that will provide certified experts who will check car seats for proper installation, ensure existing car seats are the right fit for the child’s age and size, and answer any car seat safety questions.

This free community event is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the parking lot of Cornerstone Church at 4680 Lexington Road.
