Three killed in red light mishap on Ga. 316 in Barrow County

Three people were killed Thursday morning when a tractor trailer truck slammed into their car at a Ga. 316 crossing in Barrow County.

The victims were all Winder residents who were in a car that ran a red light, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

GSP said the incident happened at about 5 a.m. when a 2013 Dodge Dart that was traveling south on Christmas Avenue in Bethlehem ran a red light and was broadsided by a 2016 Peterbilt tractor-trailer that was westbound on Ga. 316.

The Peterbilt was in the right lane, while the Nissan was in the left lane. 

The three occupants of the Dodge all died as a result of the collision. They were identified as Jader Artola, 37, Gonzalo Balmaceda-Garcia, 48, and Norman Tremino-Vilchez, Jr., 17, all of Winder.

The truck driver was transported to an the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It's a shame they can't be charged with criminal endangerment for what they did to the truck driver.

That’s the most racist comment I’ve seen this week. You know good and well nothing happened to that truck or driver. Three humans lost their lives and families lost loved ones. How are there so many heartless humans like you among us?
