A University of Georgia football player was arrested early Friday morning on family violence charges by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
Rodarius Thomas, a 22-year-old wide receiver for the Georgia Bulldogs was arrested by officers who responded to a domestic violence incident on Mill Creek Way.
He was booked into the county jail on three felony counts each of battery and second-degree cruelty to children.
The police department said they were by law prevented from making details of the incident public because of the child cruelty charges.
Thomas is being detained without bail.
The family violence arrest is the second for the UGA senior since he transferred last year from Mississippi State.
In January 2023, Thomas was charged by the University of Georgia Police Department police with false imprisonment and battery for assaulting a woman in a UGA dorm room.
The case was dismissed prior to indictment after the football player completed a pretrial diversion program.
I'm sure Kirby will give him a stern talking to. Poor children, that's who I feel sorry for. :-(
That pretrial diversion program really helped.
