Unsilent Night: The world’s favorite boombox parade

Phil Kline's Unsilent Night — the world's favorite boombox parade — returns to Athens on 12/23/23!

Gather at Little Kings Shuffle Club (223 W Hancock Ave.) at 7:30 PM on Saturday, December 23. We'll step off shortly thereafter and parade through downtown and the UGA quad.

This is a free, family-friendly event that lasts about an hour. In past years, our Athens walkers have included Kishi Bashi and ACC Mayor Kelly Girtz.

It is a kind of miracle — a nonsectarian piece of wondrous music that makes Athens and the season come alive for a fleetingly brief time.

Most participants use a phone and an external Bluetooth speaker for maximum volume.

Parking should be relatively easy on the Saturday before Christmas, but there's a deck two blocks away on Washington St.

If you have any questions, feel free to email the organizer at markmobley@gmail.com.
