A Winterville man was arrested early Wednesday for allegedly shooting up a home in east Athens, wounding an occupant.
The incident occurred Sept. 5 on Spring Valley Road where Athens-Clarke County police said multiple gunshots were fired into a trailer at an unnamed mobile home park. A female occupant was struck once in the arm by a bullet and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The alleged shooter was identified by police as 31-year-old Adam J. Conerly.
“Our investigation and witnesses led detectives to believe that Conerly was the suspect in the shooting,” police said.
Police did not say if the victim was the intended target of the shooting or if there was a known motive.
Conerly was arrested on warrants Wednesday morning at his home on Bristlecone Court, police said.
He was booked into the Clarke County Jail at 4:14 a.m. on a charge of aggravated assault and two counts of criminal damage to property.
The suspect was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $10,000 for the criminal damage charges but no bond was set for the assault charge, according to the jail’s website.
