Bridge on Fowler Mill Road closed for several years for replacement

The bridge on Fowler Mill Road near 640 Fowler Mill Road over Little Bear Creek is closed indefinitely to through traffic until the bridge is repaired. The design, planning, and replacement of the bridge is expected to take three years.

The project will be managed by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). A recent inspection of the bridge by ACCGov Transportation and Public Works and GDOT staff determined that the bridge deck is rusted and unsafe for continued vehicle travel. The bridge is secured with barricades and concrete barriers to ensure no vehicles can drive over the bridge. A detour has been set up for the area to route through traffic to Atlanta Highway and Cleveland Road.
