Science fact of the day: Lenticular Clouds Have an Unusual Shape

Lenticular clouds are shaped like lenses, almonds, or flying saucers.

They can be caused by hilly terrain or simply by the way the air is rising over flat terrain.

Unlike many other clouds, lenticular clouds do not indicate any particular type of weather.
