Science fact of the day: Sea Cucumbers Are Not Vegetables

Sea cucumbers are unique, living invertebrates, not a type of saltwater vegetable.

Most of them are scavengers and move along the seafloor feeding on tiny particles of algae or microscopic marine animals that they collect with special tube feet located around their mouths.
