UGA fraternity’s 'Dunk a DKE' event raises over $1,100 for Athens charity

On April 9 the Beta Delta chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon at the University of Georgia organized its inaugural philanthropy event, 'Dunk a DKE.' The event raised over $1,100, with all proceeds going to Family Promise of Athens, a local non-profit that helps families at risk of homelessness.

The event included a dunk tank where fraternity members were dunked by attendees. Tickets were sold for $8, giving buyers 12 chances to dunk a member. Each ticket also came with a meal of a burger or hot dog, popcorn, and chips.

Additional throws were available for $3 for four more attempts, which many guests chose to purchase, adding to the total funds raised.

About 85% of the fraternity members participated in the event. Before the event, 230 tickets were sold, excluding those bought on the day, showing strong community support.
