A new public artwork, funded by TSPLOST 2018, by local artist Joni Younkins-Herzog, has been installed in the Whitehall roundabout located at S. Milledge Avenue & Whitehall Road. "Phyllotaxis" is a 15ft steel sculpture inspired by organic forms and the golden ratio/Fibonacci sequence found in art, math, nature and architecture.
A dedication event will be held at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 15.
Attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
