Athens Pride Parade 2023 details announced

Athens Pride & Queer Collective announces

that the 2023 Athens Pride Parade will be held on June 3, 2023 in Downtown Athens beginning at 2 o.m.

"This has been a difficult year for our LGBTQ+ communities. From threats to our rights to the threatening of our very existence, we know that visibility and collective celebration is more important now than it has ever been before!" APQC said in a recent news release.

Join the parade along Clayton Street, College Avenue, and Hancock Avenue as celebrants make their way through the streets of the Classic City and ending streets of Downtown Athens and ending at The Foundry Pavilion behind the Classic Center.

There will be performances by Sarah Mootz, The League of Step, and tunes by DJ Gregory, non-profit vendors, food vendors, and fun for all ages.

This Second Annual Pride Parade is made possible by the support of sponsors who enable the APQC cover costs and continue to invest in the lives of Queer communities in the Greater Athens-area.

Worry about what does, or does not, happen in your own bedrooms.

Drag Queens aren't grooming kids.

If you think they are then keep your own kids away from Drag Queen Story Hour. You're missing out on a really fun time, but that's your business.

Nobody is forcing this down your throats..... Unlike the street preachers standing on milk crates with megaphones, and religious door knockers.

I must have misunderstood... The parade is happening in someone's bedroom? Last I heard conservatives generally don't care what people do in their bedrooms as long as it's consensual and those involved are adults. The problem is now these people walk around completely naked, wearing S&M bondage gear, throwing dildo's into crowds from parade floats, twerking. etc... generally flaunting and celebrating their sexual deviant bedroom activities around kids. Specifically aiming it all at kids.

I was a liberal for 40 years but after the last 4 years I've come to realize I was a fool and damn near everything the right tried to tell…

Viewed from a Christian perspective a parade celebrating "Pride" of any persuasion is a parade celebrating the most deadly of the seven deadly sins: Pride. Gay pride or straight pride.
