Crashed SUV driver killed by gunshot in Walton Co., suspect arrested

An arrest has been made in a murder that began as an apparent traffic accident in the Walton County city of Monroe.

The incident happened at around 7:50 p.m.Tuesday when officers responded to a reported vehicle accident in the Monroe Crossings Shopping Center off U.S. Highway 78, according to the Monroe Police Department, and upon arrival they found that one of the involved drivers was dead from a gunshot wounds.

Police said that investigators believe that the victim was shot in the parking lot of The Home Depot, and the victim's SUV rolled through a nearby bank parking lot where it struck a car that was exiting from an Arby’s restaurant.

The SUV's driver, was identified by police as 19-year-old Faybe'ann Ragsdale, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

On Wednesday, the MPD announced it had arrested and charged 21-year-old Kevin Rosa with felony murder in relation to the case.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately known.
