The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred in the city's Five Points district.
The incident happened just after 10 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of South Milledge Avenue, where witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a dark-colored sports car, possibly a Ford Mustang, speeding off after the gunfire.
Upon hearing the gunfire, college students who live in the area reportedly took shelter in the basements of their residences and called 911.
Officers located five 9mm shell casings, but were unable to find any victims or property damage.
Five Points soon to be called the 5 Shots area of Athens the way things are going in town.
Not Five Points,😮 Oh no.
