More than two dozen bullets reportedly were fired during a gun battle over the weekend in west Athens.
Officers responded to the area of Summerbrook Circle and Hawthorne Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday to investigate multiple reports of about 20 to 30 gunshots being fired, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.
No victims were located, but officers found a total of 23 cartridge cases from three different caliber bullets on Hawthorne Extension, between Summerbrook Circle and Brooklyn Road, according to the report, which noted that “each caliber was found grouped together by the same caliber, giving the impression that different groups were shooting at each other.”
The report continued, saying that “different callers reported seeing black sedans driving away from the scene during the shooting.”
I guess Pauldoe is still Pauldoe.
Cut and Shoot Georgia
Always a black sedan!!! How passé! I’d be more impressed if the witnesses said they saw somebody drive away in a orange 1970s AMC Pacer!!!
Then I’d KNOW the shooter meant business!!!
