Science fact of the day: Brain Corals can live for up to 900 years

Brain corals are a type of coral that can grow six feet tall and live for up to 900 years.

Named for their resemblance to brains, their tissues are more closely connected than those of other corals, which allows them to easily transfer nutrients, hormones, and oxygen.

However, this also makes these structures vulnerable, because if one section gets sick, the pathogen is able to travel quickly and the whole structure can die.
