Science fact of the day: Lepidopterans live on every continent except Antarctica


Lepidopterans — butterflies, moths, and skippers — are found on every continent with the exception of Antarctica.

There are approximately 165,000 different species of lepidopterans living on Earth today that are currently known to humans.
