A 54-year-old man was recently arrested for allegedly molesting two women at an Athens Waffle House, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.

One of the women called 911 shortly after 1 a.m. on August 28 to report that a man “had touched her butt” inside the Oconee Street Waffle House, according to the report.

The woman told a responding officer that the offender was wearing a green jumpsuit and was in a parking lot next to the restaurant, according to the report.

The man was identified by police as 54-year-old East Broad Street resident Tommy Wooten Jr.,

The woman reportedly explained she was seated at the bar part of a table when Wooten allegedly slid his hand across her buttocks as he walked by.

Wooten allegedly did the same thing to another woman as she stood against a booth.

The women were 22 and 33 years old.

Wooten told police that he went to Waffle House for dinner and that “if he touched anyone inappropriately that he didn’t mean to,” according to the report.

He was arrested and charged with sexual battery and was barred from Waffle House for two years, the report indicated.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Wooten remained incarcerated in lieu of a $2,000 good security bond at the Clarke County Jail.
