Arrest made in case of Athens man found lying in street with gunshot wound to neck

Terrio Pass

By Joe Johnson

An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting of a man who last month was found wounded on a street in west Athens.

Terrio Pass, 24, was charged with aggravated assault, and on Monday was being held at the county jail without bail being set.

An investigation began the afternoon of April 17, when 32-year-old Joshua Lamar Scott of Calvin Street was found by passersby as he was lying in the roadway in the 200 block of Hawthorne Extension, with a gunshot wound in the neck.

He was transported to the hospital with what police said at the time were life-threatening injuries.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department has declined to discuss possible motives for the shooting and other aspects of the case, citing an ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked by police to contact Detective Hovie Lister at 762-400-7333, or hovie.lister@accgov.com.

Just let him out of jail now please. Save the taxpayers the expense of another trial by DA Gonzales. I don't care anymore. Just drop the charges & let him go. Save this county about $750k or more.

So Terrio got some 'cred and now he's hopefully gonna get some time. If fairly tried and found guilty, he should be taken to the street and shot in the neck. I'm really starting to like this eye-for-an-eye plan.

Gang related! This so-called “victim” was a POS with a litany of arrests and convictions and it couldn’t have happened to a nicer punk!

I have to hold my nose and laugh at the same time when I hear clowns like you make excuses for career criminals by saying that they simply made mistakes! A mistake is when you leave the house to go grocery shopping and you forgot your list of what to get.

He made no mistakes. He made clear and concise and conscientious decisions knowing full well what the consequences would be. and he couldn’t care less about the suffering of any of his victims. That’s no mistake. As for his family? It’s obvious he didn’t care about them, so why should we
