A Gofundme campaign has been launched by a friend of Laken Riley to assist her family in the aftermath of the 22-year-old nursing student's murder Thursday morning on a University of Georgia running trail in Athens.
Kanaan Rogers, who is from Riley's hometown of Woodstock, explained that the raised funds will go towards helping Riley's family with funeral expenses, establish a scholarship in her name, raise homicide awareness, "or any other opportunity the family could use it for during this difficult time."
Anyone wishing for contribute can do it by following this link https://gofund.me/b1e73ccf.
Funeral and other related expenses may possibly be paid for by the Georgia Victims Compensation Fund. A Victim's Advocate will be assigned to the family by the court and can direct the family in the use of this resource:

That link doesn't work. It goes to a generic GFM page.
