Two Athens teens were indicted this week for allegedly robbing marijuana from another teen last month in northern Athens.

Christian Argeins Flores, 17, and Jairo Beza-Calderon, 18, both of 105 Deupree Court were each charged with armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault, according to the indictment that was filed Tuesday in Clarke County Superior Court.

The charges stem from a Sept. 4 report of a possible drive-by shooting at 105 Deupree Court, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.

The victim of that incident who is named in the police report is a 19-year-old male who also resided at the Deupree Court address. That victim had a different name than that of a male who is identified in the indictment as the victim from whom marijuana was allegedly stolen at gunpoint by the two defendants.

Police declined to clarify the events that resulted in Flores and Beza-Calderon being arrested.

“It would be inappropriate for the ACCPD to discuss the case further now that a grand jury has returned an indictment,” police Public Information Officer Geof Gilland said.

Beza- Calderon was arrested the day of the alleged armed robbery and was released from custody two weeks later upon posting a $10,000 good security bond, according to court records.

Flores was arrested Sept. 9 and released the following week upon posting a $15,000 bond, records show.

Neither defendant had been scheduled for arraignment as of Friday.
