Two suspects were in custody and additional arrests were expected in a robbery and beating last month at The Park at Athens Lakeside apartment complex, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The 33-year-old victim said he was in his home the afternoon of May 29 when the suspects jumped and beat him before stealing a fireproof lock box and $2,000 cash, according to police.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he reportedly was treated for a broken nose and other injuries.
The assault and robbery reportedly were recorded by the victim’s security video camera.
Athens-Clarke County police spokesman Geof Gilland on Tuesday said the names of the two suspects were not being released due to an ongoing investigation that was expected to result in additional arrests.
