The incident happened at about 1 a.m. Sunday on Weir Circle in Parkview Homes when the suspect showed up at the apartment demanding money while armed with a boxcutter, police said. According to police, it happened at around 9:30 p.m. several blocks from the UGA campus, just as the students arrived at their friend’s home on South Finley Street. The gunman approached the victims from behind and demanded their wallets, according to police, and when the students complied by tossing their wallets onto the sidewalk the robber told them to go

By Joe Johnson A 25-year-old Athens man was robbed early in the morning of October 10th as he was walking from one job on Baxter Street to his other job on West Broad Street. He told police that when he got to the intersection of Paris and Waddell streets he was accosted by the suspect who took his wallet and punched him in the face, then threw the wallet at him after removing its cash. Police say the victim had a visible injury to his eye that was beginning to swell.
