Released today by the Clarke County School District
At the Thursday, Jan. 15 meeting of the Clarke County Board of Education, District 8 member Nicole Hull announced that she will resign from her seat, effective June 30, 2026. Ms. Hull was first elected to the board in 2020 and is currently serving in her second term.Â
Pursuant to state law and local board policy, a special election will be held Nov. 3, 2026, to fill the remainder of Ms. Hull’s term, which expires in December 2028. Once the seat is vacated on June 30, the board will have the option to appoint a community member in District 8 to fill the seat until the winner of the November election is sworn into office in January 2027.
Information about qualifying for the special election, as well as additional information about the appointment process, will be released at a later date.Â
In other business during Thursday’s meeting, the board re-elected Dr. Mumbi Anderson (District 6) and Mark Evans (District 9) as President and Vice President, respectively, for two-year terms through 2027. Dr. Anderson and Mr. Evans have served in those capacities since January 2024.Â
