A grand jury this week indicted an Athens man who authorities say stabbed a woman when they were visiting Memorial Park three months ago.
Cordero Geovanny Pumadera, 37, is charged in the indictment with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and simple battery - all under the Georgia Family Violence Act.
According to the indictment that was filed Tuesday in Clarke County Superior Court, Pumadera and Elizabeth Golem were in Memorial Park on Jan. 31 when he stabbed Golem in her side, puncturing a lung.
He also dragged Golem by the hair until she fell to the ground, the indictment states.
At the time of the incident, Pumadera and the victim were living together at a Glendale Heights residence.
As of Thursday, Pumadera remained locked up in the county jail.
