Athens middle school student arrested for weapons violation

A 13-year-old boy was arrested at Coile Middle School on the morning of September 5th after he was found in possession of a knife.
The assistant principal was alerted by some children that one of their classmates had the weapon on him and police were called when administrators found the knife,
The Department of Juvenile Justice directed police to release the student into a parent’s custody and to file a complaint in Juvenile Court charging the boy with possession of a weapon or school grounds.
