Athens police release details of downtown shooting

Three teenage girls were injured in the shooting in downtown Athens last weekend.

According to a police report released on Friday, a 15-year-old girl was shot in the ankle, a bullet struck the back of a 14-year-old, and the third victim, also aged 14, was shot in the bicep.

The incident happened just before 4 a.m. on September 28th on East Clayton Street,

The officer who wrote the report stated he responded to the report of a fight and that shots rang off as he helped to disperse a large group.

A suspect wasn’t identified at the scene but the report notes that shooting was captured on surveillance video.

The suspect was later identified as Tatianna Ambria Darnayia Wilbon, 24, of Comers, and on September 29th she was arrested on three counts of aggravated assault.
