An attorney who is a former Athens prosecutor recently received threatening mail in the form of a glitter bomb that was accompanied by a famous picture of singer Johnny Cash.
Marcy Hanks was opening an envelope that came in the mail when glitter exploded from it and was spread all over her vehicle, according to police.
In the envelope was a picture of Johnny Cash giving the middle finger to the warden when he performed in San Quentin Prison.
There was also a note that said, “You are a manipulator of the truth.“
Hanks is now in private practice but she was once a prosecutor in the Athens-Clarke County solicitor’s office. Her husband, Robbie Ballard, is a former sheriff’s deputy and now a sitting judge in Walton County.
Ballard told police that an attorney in Oconee County received a similar envelope, with a note with a Biblical reference concerning vengeance.
