The Athens Regional Library System has appointed Lorrie Lavengood as its new business manager .
She brings with her to Athens-Clarke County an impressive background in business management and a passion for community development,
Lavengood will drive strategic growth and enhance the library’s financial sustainability.
As business manager Lavengood will be responsible for working with the Library director in overseeing all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and business development at Athens Regional Library System. Lavengood will play a pivotal role in the system’s continued success and its ability to meet the evolving needs of the community.

"Her extensive background in business management and commitment to see the library thrive makes me confident that her innovative approaches and strategic insights will play a pivotal role in the success of our libraries.”
Lavengood has 18 years of accounting experience in both private and non-profit capacities. Previously, she worked for the government of Morgan County, where she resides with her two children. In her spare time she enjoys riding horses and camping with her family.
