Best-friendship takes violent turn

An Athens woman was arrested after she allegedly attacked another woman who claimed to be her best friend.
The incident occurred on the morning of May 31st at Rolling Ridge Apartments, where 33-year-old Wayna Henderson said she had been staying at the home of best friend, Mianiqua Stanley.
When they were out together “everything was fine,” Henderson told police, “but this morning, while Wayna slept on the couch, Miamiqua woke her up and accused her of having a naked man stand over her.
“Wayna said Mianiqua then began punching her, pulling her hair out, and biting her right forearm,“ according to police,
Henderson afterwards went to a neighboring apartment to allow things to calm down, “but Mianiqua came over and began physically attacking her a second time,” police said.
Officers who responded to Rolling Ridge to investigate Henderson”s injuries from being attacked, including knots on her face and forehead, and bite marks on her arm. They also noted that the victim had blood on her clothing.
Stanley was not home while the officers there, but she was arrested Monday night on warrants charging her with two counts of battery.
She remained at the county jail as of Tuesday afternoon in lieu of a $1,500 bond
