Computation and canvassing of ballots in Athens-Clarke County

Pursuant to Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) § 21-2-492, notice is hereby given that the computation and canvassing of the returns of votes cast in the November 5 General Election will begin Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 7:30 PM at the Facilities and Landscape training roomlocated at 2555 Lexington Road in Athens.

The process also includes reconciling provisional ballots as provided in O.C.G.A. Sections 21-2-418 and 21-2-419, guaranteeing that all ballots have been counted and tabulated, and that absentee ballots as provided in OCGA section 21-2-386 subparagraph (a)(1)(G) from day-to-day are included in the final vote. The computation and canvassing of provisional and absentee ballots will resume Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Elections Department located at 155 East Washington Street.

The computation and canvassing process is open to the public.
