Athens man convicted of child molestation, receives lifetime sentence

An Athens man on Thursday was convicted of molesting a young girl over a two-year period and received a lifetime sentence.

Following a Superior Court trial, the jury found 43-year- old Daniel Lee Grier guilty of aggravated sexual battery and three counts of child molestation.

He was sentenced to serve 40 years in prison and probation for the rest of his life.
