A Danielsville man has been released from the hospital and booked into jail on charges he killed three coworkers in a drunk-driving car crash.

Moo Lia Kler Thaw was driving the victims home from their jobs in Comer Tuesday night, according to police, when he steered his car into the path of an oncoming pickup truck, resulting in a collision that killed all three passengers.

The victims were identified as Gler Taw, Saw Yo Ah, and Thai Lei Htoo, all of whom lived in Madison County and worked at SMI Composites in Comer, where Thaw also had once been employed.

The Georgia State Patrol arrested Thaw on charges of DUI, first-degree homicide by vehicle, and failure to yield, and transported him for treatment at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

He was discharged Thursday afternoon and booked into the Madison County Jail, where he was being held in lieu of a $13,000 bond.
