A woman was recently assaulted by her boyfriend when he learned that another man’s name was on their newborn child’s birth certificate.
The incident happened the afternoon of August 26th in the couple’s home on Eastwood Court when Kevin Armando Ramirez became enraged upon learning about the mistake,
The hospital had listed the victim’s last name hyphenated with her ex-husband’s, and she explained to Ramirez that it was something that could be corrected.
Ramirez nevertheless struck the woman’s face and grabbed her by the throat and choked her.
She fled to a neighborhood Family Dollar store and called 911.
Police arrested Ramirez on charges of family violence battery and violation of a protective order that was in place for a pending domestic violence case involving the couple.
Ramirez is being detained at the county jail, where ICE has placed a hold on his release.
