Former Athens crime analyst arrested for misusing Flock cameras to spy on ex-wife

Nicholas James Barker, 33, of Jefferson, has been criminally charged for the alleged misuse of the county’s Flock surveillance camera system to spy on his ex-wife.

According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department he improperly used the Flock automated license plate reader system to search for his ex-wife’s vehicle’s tag numerous times over the course of several months last year.

Baker was fired in August from his position as senior civilian crime analyst. He was also supervisor for the Real Time Crime Center.

The matter was given to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and on September 9th they arrested Barker for one count of misuse of the Flock system. He was released from jail upon posting a $1,000 bond, and is scheduled to be arraigned on November 17th.
