Heist at Captain D’s could be inside job

Employees showed up for work at Captain D’s on Prince Avenue Wednesday morning to find an unlocked back door and an empty office safe.

From what the police learned from their preliminary investigation it appears as though the theft might have been an inside job.

The missing money had all been inside the restaurant’s safe, and it’s code had apparently been used to open it, according to police, and the surveillance camera system had been shut off for a three-hour period on the morning of the theft.

The amount of money that was stolen was redacted from the police report.
