Clarke County sheriff's deputy Torin Johnson was recently promoted from the rank of senior deputy to sergeant.
Johnson received his new stripes Dec. 11 at the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse, with his family members and coworkers looking on.
"We are extremely proud of his accomplishment," Sheriff Ira Edwards Jr. said. "We look forward to observing his continued success and career within the Sheriff’s Office."
