A fatal crash this week in Athens in which a motorcyclist collided with a passenger car remained under investigation on Friday, Athens-Clarke County police Public Information Officer Victoria Hunter said.
However, an accident report released Friday by police indicates that a 22-year-old Norwood Circle woman Tuesday afternoon failed to yield when turning her car from Ila Road onto Danielsville Road and into the path of a motorcycle driven by 48-year-old John Andrew Morton of Garnett Ward Road in Hull, according to the report.
Morton was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was examined by National EMS personnel for head pain and treated for minor cuts, the report noted.
The report indicated that the driver of the car took a breath test and results of tests of the victim's blood were pending.
