Teenage brothers robbed at gunpoint in east Athens

By Joe Johnson

Teenage brothers reported they were robbed at gunpoint last week as they were walking on a street in east Athens, Athens-Clarke County police said.

The boys said they were walking to their father’s residence on Moss Road at about 10:40 p.m. Friday when a car approached from the opposite direction near 1195 Olympic Drive, according to police.

When the car stopped, two males exited the vehicle and at gunpoint stole two cellphones and a book bag with a total value of more than $2,000, police said.

The suspects were described as medium-complexioned black males in their late teens, police said.

One suspect had dreadlocks and the other had short hair, police said.

Their car was said to be a small four-door green sedan, according to police.

Officers searched the area but could not locate the car, police said.
